National Convention Awards Banquet

See below. If you wish to attend please let me know before March 17th so we can get enough tables before they open to everyone.


As many of you may have heard we will be having a formal awards banquet at the National Convention in Columbus, Ohio to celebrate our 125 years of history and to recognize some of our more prestigious awards from the VFW and the Auxiliary.   This banquet will take place on Monday, August 11th from 5:30 to 9 pm+ in the Battelle Grand Ballroom at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.

 

Starting tomorrow till March 17th when you log into OMS a pop up will appear that will allow you as the State representative to purchase a table of 10 for this banquet (You can purchase more than one table).  Seats are $125.00 each so a table of 10 is $1,250.00.  Barring any award winners and VIP tables seating will be done in order of purchase.  We are currently open to Department A/Qs and for table purchases ONLY. General sales will open March 18th, which is where you can purchase individual tickets.  We have 1,400 seats available so first come first serve.  On March 18th we will open to any person to buy a ticket so take advantage of this early buy opportunity to secure a table or two for your Department.

 All ticket purchases are final and non-refundable. If you are unable to attend, you are responsible for finding someone else to purchase or use your ticket. Purchaser is the only person authorized to pick up the ticket(s) from registration and will be responsible to distribution of the ticket(s) to any necessary parties.  You will receive an email receipt of your ticket or table purchase and we will have a master list as well as tickets for pick up at registration.

 

Cocktail hour will begin on the Battelle Grand Balcony at 5:30 PM and the doors to the banquet will open at 6:15 PM and the Dress Code is Semi-Formal to Formal Attire.

 

At the present time and to keep the cost down (yes, I know $125.00 is not cheap) we have opted to go with a Chefs choice for protein, vegetable, starch, and dessert with a salad. This means we will not know what the options are till we get closer to the convention date.  Any person buying a table or a ticket will get an email notification when we know so they can select their choice if we get one, also they will be able to inform us of any food allergies they might have as well as gluten free and vegetarian options.

 

Tickets will need to be picked up at registration by the person who purchases the ticket or who they authorize to pick up the ticket(s).

 

We will be presenting VFW and Auxiliary awards at this event to save us time in our meetings as we are a day shorter than last year.
