PFAS Lawsuit

- 11/26/2024

Carl,

Hope all is well with you and yours brother. While I was traveling around the country the last couple of years speaking to VFW members on the Camp Lejeune Justice Act, I had comrades and auxiliary asking about PFAS exposure due to the firefighting foam we have all heard about. At the time, I was focused on the Lejeune mission and did not have bandwidth to investigate PFAS and see if there was a path for veterans & families to pursue. I now do.

There is an ongoing multi-district lawsuit against the manufacturers of firefighting foam and other PFAS containing materials used prevalently throughout the country, including on and around military installations, regardless of branch served in. The deadline for filing a suit is coming up in March 2025, and I will not be able to go in the field again like I did with Lejeune, but I am reaching out to dept. VSOs and Adjutants to spread the word and keep an eye out. If I can help, I certainly will, and if not, no worse for the wear. I just want to be sure someone who may have a case finds out of they do or not, rather than leave it on the table.

Appreciate you sharing my email and/or phone number (608) 209-0805 with your Council so if they know/come across anyone who may fit the following criteria:

Pretty straightforward: any veteran or their loved one who has been diagnosed with liver cancer, kidney cancer, testicular cancer, or ulcerative colitis, from the year 2000-present.

Let me know if you have any questions and thanks in advance for getting folks in touch with me to see if I can help em out!

Cheers,
