Commanders and Comrades,

In light of the recent terrorist attack in New Orleans yesterday that took the lives of at least 15 the Chief and I have been communicating throughout the day.  We will be releasing an official statement sometime tomorrow from the Veterans of Foreign Wars condemning this act of cowardice.

Here is a brief message from the Chief that you may share with your members.
"As our nation’s largest Combat Veteran Service organization, we call on our members to be hyper-vigilant. Be aware of your surroundings prepared to call on your training and experiences, and possibly act if capable, to stop cowardly acts by those who attack innocent citizens.
Let there be no misunderstanding. The Global War on Terror is real and here. That means our enemies are on our soil and in our cities. We the members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars have faced terrorists and defeated them time and time again as history has confirmed.  Thomas Jefferson is quoted as saying that "The price of freedom is eternal vigilance”.
If you see something, say something."

The Chief is fighting mad, but that's just my observation.
